SAGES Workshop: Research insights and future directions

Saturday, May 16, 2026, 10:00 – 13:00 Center for European Studies, room i.1
The SAGES Workshop brings together recent research outputs and forward-looking perspectives from the Spatial Analysis of Growth, Environment and Sustainable Well-being (SAGES) project. The session highlights innovative approaches to understanding sustainable well-being and territorial inequalities in Europe, moving beyond traditional GDP-based frameworks towards a comprehensive, place-based perspective. [sages.uaic.ro] The workshop reflects the project’s ambition to develop a multi-layered analytical framework that captures the complex interactions between economic, social, and environmental factors shaping well-being across regions. Central to this approach is the development of new tools and methodologies designed to support evidence-based policymaking and territorial cohesion. [sages.uaic.ro] Workshop Focus Participants will explore how innovative research instruments can improve the measurement and analysis of well-being, support the identification of spatial disparities, and inform more effective place-based policies. These policies aim to address regional inequalities by tailoring interventions to local contexts and needs.
